Taxus Baccata - Care & Information

The European Yew is one of the most iconic species in the world of bonsai. Known for its elegant needles, compact growth and timeless character, Taxus baccata develops a graceful structure that reflects patience and precision. It is an evergreen conifer that grows slowly and rewards consistent care, making it ideal for shaping over many years.
Pro Tip: Taxus baccata adapts surprisingly well to shaded areas, but it achieves its best colour and vitality with moderate sunlight. Avoid exposing the tree to strong summer heat during the central hours of the day. In winter, protect the pot from cold winds and night frost to keep the roots healthy.

If your bonsai arrives damaged, email us at treevaset@gmail.com or Whatsapp us at +49 1578 3471124 with photos from different angles taken during unboxing. Once we verify the issue, we’ll provide a full refund or we’ll replace your bonsai.

Caring for a bonsai is easier than you think! Follow our care instructions, water it when the soil feels dry, and set a watering reminder if needed. For beginners, we recommend our Bonsai Starter Kits and placing the bonsai somewhere you’ll see it often. It’s all about consistency!

Watering is the most frequent task and usually takes less than a minute. Most of the year, watering is needed only a few times a week, though daily watering may be required in summer if your bonsai is in direct sunlight. We also suggest spending about 5 minutes a week observing your bonsai’s growth and learning to read its signals. This makes caring for it more rewarding and enjoyable!

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, Google Pay and Apple Pay payment.

Of course, if you have questions about watering, pruning, or other care needs, feel free to reach out to us. Additionally, you can book a one-on-one session with our experts if you’d like to deepen your bonsai knowledge and get personalized guidance.

Once your order is shipped you will receive an email with a tracking number.
