A real bonsai, not a bag of seeds

Most bonsai starter kits ship you a packet of seeds and a promise — months of germination, and no guarantee anything survives. This one is different. Inside the box is a living Pinus Mugo, a mountain pine grown in our nursery for years, already potted in its handmade ceramic and shaped by our growers. Your bonsai doesn’t begin someday. It begins the day the box arrives.

The mountain pine is one of the most forgiving trees you can start with: hardy, patient, and happy outdoors all year on a balcony, terrace or in the garden. It asks for little — a sunny spot, water when the topsoil feels dry, and a few quiet minutes of attention. That’s the real gift of bonsai: ten screen-free minutes a day, a living thing that answers to your care and slowly becomes yours. When you’re ready to go deeper, our full Pinus Mugo care guide covers every season of your tree’s year, from first watering to winter rest.

What makes this bonsai starter kit different is that nothing is left for you to figure out alone. The tree arrives already styled, so your first year is about caring, watching and learning — not rescuing a seedling. You’ll know exactly what to do in week one, in month three, and when the seasons change. And because every pot is handmade, no two kits are ever quite the same: the ceramic your tree arrives in was chosen for it, and exists only once.

Everything you need is in the box — the tree, its unique pot, scissors, fertilizer for the first season, and a step-by-step tutorial with a care video filmed by the grower who raised your tree. If you’ve been looking for a bonsai starter kit that starts with a real tree instead of a promise, this is it. No experience required. Because anyone can play bonsai.

I bought the mountain pine as a special gift and it was wonderful! The bonsai arrived in perfect condition, well packed and protected, the soil still moist — a beautiful little pine. Luca’s care video for the first days is much appreciated. You can tell the dedication and love they put into every tree. 100% recommended!

I took a hands-on beginner bonsai course with them and loved it. Clear explanations and lots of little bonsai to work on.

FAQs

Why can't I choose the pot colour?
Every pot is handmade and one of a kind. Our grower pairs each tree with the ceramic that suits it best. You receive a unique combination chosen for your tree, not a factory match.
No — this is an outdoor tree, and keeping it inside will slowly weaken it. A balcony, terrace or garden is exactly what a mountain pine needs, in every season including winter.
Not much — a water when the topsoil feels dry, usually a minute or two a day in summer and less in winter. The bigger jobs, like a light prune or repotting, come around only once a season or every few years. The tutorial tells you what to do and when.
It makes a memorable gift. It arrives safely packed and ready to give, and the tutorial makes it easy even for someone who has never kept a plant. You’re giving a living tree, not a packet of seeds that might never sprout.
A living Pinus Mugo already potted in its handmade ceramic, bonsai scissors, slow-release fertilizer for the first season, and a step-by-step tutorial with a grower’s care video. Everything from day one — just add a sunny outdoor spot.
